This awareness campaign has been initiated by KTCL and Manipal Hospitals. Kadamba bus drivers of Vasco were advised on safe driving by the seminarians. KTCL Chairman Carlos Almeida, while speaking at the occasion, said that the efficiency of a driver can be increased if he is sleeping well and taking good rest.

"Drivers of buses on long journeys are vulnerable to falling asleep while driving. Considering the risk of life of several passengers, drivers have to be alert and active on the steering wheel and this initiative is targeting this very alertness." — Carlos Almeida, KTC chairman

Dr Shekhar Salkar while speaking regarding the camp said that the team of experts will be monitoring the sleep patterns of drivers who are complaining of sleepiness during work hours. "By monitoring these drivers we can take definite steps if required surgical steps to rectify the problem of these drivers. We thank Kadamba Transport Corporation for initiating this exercise with Manipal hospitals," said Dr Shekhar.
